Full tracklisting revealed for deluxe reissues of Nirvana's 'Nevermind' »
Jesus, Nevermind is 20 years old. You may be tired of listening to the story about how Nirvana killed hair metal but it was completely true in my case. I still remember the first time I heard Teen Spirit on the radio, thinking “holy shit, who is this?” It was an instant wake-up call for all the little quinceañero trend whores like me. I never bought another Skid Row record after that.
The studio recording of “Endless, Nameless” appeared as a hidden track on all but the first 50,000 of the earlier pressings of the original CD, but somehow didn’t make the cut on a 4-disc deluxe edition. Weird choice.
[ETA] Ok, wait. So what if it’s still a hidden track? That, while a decidedly anti-completist choice contrary to everything we’ve come to expect from “Deluxe Editions,” would be an interesting way to do it given that the original album did once have that track, though it was removed on later pressings. To still refrain from naming it is kind of cool, if that’s what’s going on.
